Issue/Introduction

Customer upgraded their Spectrum environment to 21.2.8 within the last weeks.
Now the following questions occurred related to VNA integration:

VNA is visible on all OneClick servers within the Admin configuration page.
Is that correct, that it is shown on every site?

VNA and Fault Tolerance -> What if the primary SpectroServer is down, will there still be an alarm synchronization (to the secondary)?
Customer noticed, that the synchronization only happens, if the primary is running. VNA has not raised any alarms during the down time of the primary spectrum server. As soon as the primary SS started again, there came up a lot of alarms with a current time stamp for spectrum but the “alarm source time stamps” say, they were raised on VNA during the down time of the primary server.

Environment

Release : 21.2.8

Component : SPCVNA

Resolution

Q)  VNA is visible on all OneClick servers within the Admin configuration page. Is that correct, that it is shown on every site?

A)  Yes it is expected behaviour ,all OC servers pointing to same MLS will see same VNA configuration settings. On SDN Manager we can see  connected OC server details.

Q)  VNA and Fault Tolerance -> What if the primary SpectroServer is down, will there still be a synchronization (to the secondary)?

A)  When primary SS is down, Secondary SS will not process any notifications or alarms from VNA. But when primary comes up, we will receive all the notification and alarms including those were generated during primary down time. So there will not be any missing of alarms or events but there will be delay till time Primary SS becomes active.
