Error Copying the JRE to the destination directory in AdminUI install

Issue/Introduction

 

When running the AdminUI prereq installer, this one fails to report the error :

  Error Copying the JRE to the destination directory

as

Administrative_UI_Prerequisite_Installer_Install_03_23_2022_22_25_41.log.txt :

  Install JRE: E:\CA\siteminder\adminui\install_config_info\install_config_jre
               Status: ERROR
               Additional Notes: ERROR - Error Copying the JRE to the destination directory
               Flexeraakz: C:\Users\myuser\AppData\Local\Temp\2\I1648070668\Windows\resource\jre\bin\server\classes.jsa 
               (The system cannot find the file specified)

 

Environment

 

AdminUI 12.8SP3 on Windows 2016;

 

Cause

 

At first glance, there might not be a conflict between dynatrace and AdminUI, but rather with the installer, a Flex product. So said, someone over the internet faces the same issue as seen in this case, and the solution to run the installer was to uninstall Dynatrace (1).

 

Resolution

 

Uninstall Dynatrace and install the AdminUI prereq;

      After uninstalling the Dynatrace, subsequent install attempts succeed.​
