Print changes | characters to � after updated to browser printing OM Web Viewer 12.1

Issue/Introduction

Now using browser printing. When selecting print, it changes the characters | to � . I have uploaded Word doc with screen prints of the report before and after selecting Print option. The Save option is saving the report correctly. We are doing some research on this reported issue.

Environment

• Output Management Web Viewer 12.1
• Google Chrome
• Microsoft Edge

Cause

It's not the update that caused this problem to appear, but the switch from Browser Add-On (ActiveX Control) printing to straight Browser Printing that change the way the | character is translated.

Resolution

This is not a Web Viewer issue. You're not doing a Web Viewer print when use Browser Printing. Perhaps look at the Browser code page, or maybe even the computer code page for an answer. 

This would be something for networking or micro services folks to examine. It is nothing that can be controlled from within Web Viewer.
