XCOM Data Transport XCOM Data Transport - Linux PC

Issue/Introduction

We received message when trying to transfer from XCOM for Linux to XCOM on z/OS.

#XCOMU0298E Unable to allocate remote transaction program: Txpi  211: Socket connect error return value = 110

Environment

Release : 11.6, 12.0

Component : XCOM Data Transport for Linux PC

Cause

A Firewall was the cause of the problem in this case.

Resolution

The Return Value = 110, ETIMEDOUT, indicates connection timed out.

If the Linux side is able to perform a loopback transfer successfully, then this indicates that the error is caused by either:

- Using the wrong IP address or the wrong port to address the partner.
- The partner XCOM is not responding
- No connectivity to the partner XCOM
- Firewalls prevent our connection request to reach the partner.
