Issue/Introduction

When loading DB2 database information into the CA Repository using the exchange for DB2, the catsync job fails and returns the following error:

MESSAGE: XIO00046
The information entered for the TARGET entity , , is not
enough criteria to select a unique entity.

Resolution

The XIO00046 error can be caused due to 'orphaned rows'.

For every row in a Repository DB2 Table, a corresponding row is written to the DBX_XREF (core cross reference table). If this linkage is broken then we refer to that row as an orphan.

Execute the PRMORPH utility to identify and remove orphans from your Repository.

More information about the PRMORPH utility and how it can be invoked are listed in Appendix A of the CA Repository for z/OS Administrator Guide.

If you continue to receive a XIO00046 error after removing all orphans from your Repository contact CA Support and provide your DBXCATG input file and the DBXSYNC debug by setting parm #13 to Y in the PARMFILE DD in the SYNC1 step and then rerun the job.
