Issue/Introduction

We need to know if migrating from SQL Server 2012 to SQL Server 2019, without going through the 2016 version, is this possible?

Environment

Release : 10.6+

Component : DevTest Application Test

Resolution

Currently, we only support versions 10.6 or 10.7. I verified both of these releases support SQL Server 2019. As far as our product is concerned, we don't have any requirements related to upgrading SQL Server databases. I recommend you work with your SQL Server DBA, and that they take a full backup of your databases before they migrate them to the 2019 release.

I check the Microsoft SQL Server 2019 Database documentation, which can be found at https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/database-engine/install-windows/upgrade-sql-server?view=sql-server-ver15. According to the documentation, you should be able to upgrade SQL Server 2012 (11.x) directly to SQL Server 2019 (15.x). However, I highly recommend you verify this with your SQL Server DBA before migrating the databases.
