Message WSS4639E 'File xxx in use' when trying to download an application to the ESP Workload Automation Workstation. This message indicates that the application member is in use by another task.

A user downloaded an application to ESP Workload Automation Workstation but did not upload it back to the mainframe or close their session.
Note: The data set could be locked because a user is actually doing a valid update.
Try editing the member using ISPF Edit. If it shows that the member is in use, hit PF1 two times to see if it is ESP Workload Automation Workstation holding it. It is also possible to look in ESP Workload Automation Workstation log for message WSS4638I indicating the member was locked, but there was no message WSS4640I indicating that the member was unlocked.
To determine where the lock is, issue z/OS modify command "F espwss,LISTLOCK"
