Issue/Introduction

 'Altiris Deployment Service DB Management service' stops unexpectedly.

Altiris Deployment Server DBManager service stopped again.

Errors in both database and GSS event viewer:

• An TLS 1.2 connection request was received from a remote client application, but none of the cipher suites supported by the client application are supported by the server. The SSL connection request has failed.
• An TLS 1.1 connection request was received from a remote client application, but none of the cipher suites supported by the client application are supported by the server. The SSL connection request has failed.
• A fatal alert was generated and sent to the remote endpoint. This may result in termination of the connection. The TLS protocol defined fatal error code is 40. The Windows SChannel error state is 1205.
• A fatal alert was generated and sent to the remote endpoint. This may result in termination of the connection. The TLS protocol defined fatal error code is 10. The Windows SChannel error state is 1203.

Cause

Cipher algorithms were not matched between the GSS Server and the SQL Server

Resolution

Make sure the SQL server and the GSS server have the same ciphers enabled. You can check or enable all with IIS Crypto. Preferably you should enable all of them.
