How to monitor multiple TS7700 machines ?

 

Resolution

For Monitoring multiple TS7700 machines the VKGPARMS parameter BVIRDSN and VTSMCNAM need to be set up correctly.

For Monitoring multiple TS7700 machines the parameter BVIRDSN needs to contain the name of the tape work data set for IBM VTS to write the BVIR data that is used in the interface.  Vantage SRM will read the tape file while creating BVIR objects.

To collect data from multiple TS7700 machines in the same object the same BVIRDSN must be used for all boxes, and their SMS MCNAME's must be listed in parameter VTSMCNAM.

VTSMCNAM contains the list of the Management Class Names for the different IBM TS7700 clusters separated by comma.

BVIRDSN (your.BVIRDSN)
VTSMCNAM (MCNAMEA,MCNAMEB)

Note: BVIRDSN's for the TS7700 boxes have probably already been defined by the people responsible for the hardware.
