SCRT report generated after CPC upgrade reports no info for the new CPU serial number

Issue/Introduction

We upgraded our CPC from a Z14 to a Z15 . When running the SCRT report program against the current SMF extract files it is not showing the new CPC information, only the old.

Cause

Review the C5 section of the SCRT report to verify the reporting period.

The input SMF data may span multiple reporting periods. According to IBM SCRT documentation...

"SCRT determines the reporting period by choosing the reporting month with the highest percentage of data collected (by SMF) and provided in the input to SCRT. In the case where multiple reporting periods have the same percentage of data collected, SCRT chooses the latest reporting period. SCRT discards data from any days that are outside of the chosen reporting period. You can use the PARMS Report_Period control statement to force SCRT to use a different reporting period."

Resolution

Try including the parm "Report_Period" in the SCRT reporting JCL (CAISCRT).
