VIP Enterprise Gateway Service will not start. Error 1067: The process terminated unexpectedly

Issue/Introduction

Cause

The VIP Enterprise Gateway uses OpenJDK Java VMs to start and stop VIP services. If these files are missing or corrupt, the VIP services cannot be started. 

Resolution

Compare the contents of the C:\Program Files (x86)\Symantec\VIP_Enterprise_Gateway\JVM folder with another working server running the same version. If there is a discrepancy, the working JVM folder can be copied to the non-working server. Never copy from a mismatched VIP EG version. 

If the files are not available from a working server, reinstall the VIP Enterprise Gateway. The following are approximate folder sizes. These vary depending on the operating system, but the difference should not be drastic: 

VIP Enterprise Gateway 9.8.4 should be ~163Mb.
VIP Enterprise Gateway 9.9.0 should be ~172Mb.
VIP Enterprise Gateway 9.9.1 should be ~102Mb.
VIP Enterprise Gateway 9.9.2 should be ~100-102Mb.
