Deploy Universal Monitoring Agent in Docker-Swarm

Issue/Introduction

Customer wants to deploy the UMA in docker-swarm by using the information found in techdocs and ACC.

Environment

docker-swarm, single/multi node setup

Cause

The documentation in techdocs talks about docker-swarm deployment, but does not tell where to find the install.yml file.

The documentation created after ACC UMA configuration only provides configurations for UMA Kubernetes/Openshift.

Resolution

Steps to follow for installing UMA on docker-swarm:

1. Download the https://hub.docker.com/r/caapm/universalmonitoragent UMA image and deploy it to a local repository if you are not allowed to use public repositories.
2. Log into DX SaaS => DX APM => Agents => Download Agents => Cloud Native and select "Docker."
3. Go down to the section "UMA Installation on Docker" and follow the instructions.

 

Additional Information

The docker-swarm installation instructions can only be downloaded from the "Agent Download" in DX SaaS, section "Cloud Native" and select "Docker".

Notice that UMA and Docker-Swarm terms are completely missing in the path to the target!

 

Once in the documentation, open - search for the "UMA Installation on Docker" section way down in the document to have the correct instructions!
