DISK BACKUP AND RESTORE

Issue/Introduction

 In DISK 14.0, trying to run the new DMSU procedure to backup USS files, using a sample job looking like the one below:

//DMSU EXEC DMSU      
//SYSIN DD *          
  FIND PATH=/CMP1/etc\
  BACKUP RETPD=184    

the following error can occur: 

ADSDM195*0045 INVALID FILE NAME PASSED TO FILE HANDLER - UNXPATHS 

How to fix it.

Environment

Release : 14.0

Component : Disk Backup and Restore

Resolution

As reported in the Release Notices at the following location:

UNIX File Level Support

...

UNIX support is only available when using a Disk 14.0 Datacom FILES database. FDBs from previous releases do not include the tables that are required for UNIX functionality. For more information about adding the UNIX tables to existing databases, see Add UNIX Tables to Disk FDB.

So it is mandatory to start using Datacom File Data Base architecture, in order to exploit this new feature and it is also requested to execute the installation step that will include the Datacom tables needed for UNIX functionality, as reported here:
