Issue/Introduction

iCSP client driver does not block cell phone or other mobile device when it is plugged in via a USB cable

Environment

iCSP-all versions

Cause

iCSP client will only block devices recognized as a USB mass storage device and ones that are scanned by the scanner station

Resolution

The iCSP scanner station does not support the scanning of removable USB devices that utilize Picture Transfer Protocol (PTP), or Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) (for example, certain mobile phones) thus the client driver will not block these types of devices when they are plugged into a client machine via USB

It is currently recommended to use a GPO or other security software in conjunction with the iCSP client to block USB devices that are not recognized by iCSP
