Getting error GIM24001E while applying ACF2 maintenance

Issue/Introduction

While applying PTFs on ACF2 for z/OS 2.4 compatibility the following error was seen:

GIM24001E ** ASSEMBLER PROCESSING FOR SYSMOD SO11443 FAILED FOR MODULE xxxxxxx IN THE CAX1SRC0 LIBRARY. THE RETURN CODE (08) EXCEEDED THE ALLOWABLE VALUE.

The member specified for the module name is in the CAX1SRC0 library but the error does not indicate what the issue is.

Resolution

There is a USERMOD that was not REJECTed before attempting to APPLY the maintenance. The module specified in the CAX1SRC0 library was site defined and not part of the base ACF2 product.

RESTORE and REJECT the USERMOD before APPLYing ACF2 maintenance.
