UIM Operator Console (OC) upgrade to 20.4 stuck at 25% due to ade probe

Issue/Introduction

The OC upgrade is stuck in our production environment.

Environment

Release : UIM v20.3 upgrade to 20.4

Component: automated_deployment_engine 20.41

Resolution

1. Deactivate the automated_deployment_engine on the Primary hub

2. Rt-click and delete the automated_deployment_engine probe

3. Navigate to .../Nimsoft/probes/service/automated_deployment_engine/

4. Backup this folder to your desktop if desired

5. Delete the /automated_deployment_engine folder under /probes/service

6. Download the latest ADE probe

7. Select the Primary Hub archive icon and then rt-click to Import the ade probe into the archive

8. Deploy the ade probe v20.42 from the local archive (note that this release includes Apache log4j library version 2.17.1) to your Primary hub robot

9. Via Raw Configure, under the ade probe startup section, set the java min/max heap memory settings to 1024 and 2048 respectively.

10. Set the loglevel to 5 and logsize to 20000.

11. Rt-click and Activate ADE

12. Check the ADE log to make sure it has no errors

13. Rerun the install and it should now be successful
