Endevor Explorer - Failed to create profile manager of type: endevor

Issue/Introduction

In Endevor explorer, create Endevor profile then location profile, and got the following error:

2022-02-09T16:38:56.849Z - Failed to create profile manager of type: endevor because of: AN ERROR OCCURRED COLLECTING ALL CONFIGURATIONS FROM THE PROFILE ROOT DIRECTORY "C:\USERS\#######.ZOWE\PROFILES". PLEASE SUPPLY THE CONFIGURATIONS ON THE PROFILE MANAGER CONSTRUCTOR PARAMETERS OR INITIALIZE THE PROFILE MANAGER ENVIRONMENT. DETAILS: PROFILE IO ERROR: ERROR READING PROFILE FILE ("C:\USERS\#######.ZOWE\PROFILES.E4E.E4E_META.YAML"). ERROR DETAILS: ENOENT: NO SUCH FILE OR DIRECTORY, OPEN 'C:\USERS\#######.ZOWE\PROFILES.E4E.E4E_META.YAML'

 

Environment

Endevor V18.1

Component : EXPLORER FOR ENDEVOR 0.14.2

Cause

Customer used the profile folder (C:\Users\#######.zowe\profiles) as the VScode workspace for Endevor explorer in the past, that caused additional folders/files in the Zowe profile folder, those additional files are blocking profle manager to start and load the exisiting profiles.

Resolution

Delete all the contents in profile folder C:\Users\#######.zowe\profiles

If the profile still shows in the VScode, remove it (right click remove a profile). 

Create new Endevor profile, and endevor location profile in VScode.
