Issue/Introduction

It seems we are getting random devices that are being polled from the SNMPCollector, are starting to alarm with the following alarm:

"Device is not responding to SNMP requests."

It seems like they are coming and going. For example, we had these happen this week, we reached out to our network team and had them check the switches and there error logs and they are seeing no issues at the time these alarms are coming out.

Environment

Release : 20.4

Component : UIM - SNMPCOLLECTOR

Resolution

The devices generating the alarms:

"Device is not responding to SNMP requests."

were decommissioned and the UIM monitoring admins were not told, so they had to be removed from Inventory, then the alarms stopped.
