We have upgraded CA IDM VAPP from 14.2 to 14.3 in Lower environments. During the upgradation we have also applied additional patches as below suggested by Broadcom.
14.3 Main Installer:
IS-GA-140300.tgz.gpg
14.3 Additional Patches suggested by Broadcom for various issues:
CP-VA-140300-0002.tar.gpg
CP-IMV-140300-0002.tgz.gpg
DBUTIL-UNIV-FIX-20200518-001.tgz.gpg
HF-DE524383-20220110-0001.tar.gpg
HF-DE472676-20200818-0001.tar
CP-OS-140300-Latest.tar.gpg
After completion of upgradation of 14.3 CP2, we found AD connection pool issue and Broadcom again suggested 14.3 CP3 to resolve.
CP-IMV-140300-0003.tgz.gpg
Now our question is for Prodcution,
>> we can apply patch from 14.2 to 14.3 main installer then 14.3 CP3 directly by skipping 14.3 CP2 ? (or)
>> We can follow sequential order like 14.2 to 14.3 main installer then 14.3 CP2 then 14.3 CP3 ?
Please suggest us.
Release : 14.3
Component : CA IDENTITY SUITE (VIRTUAL APPLIANCE)
Basically, CP stands for cumulative patch.
So the 14.3 CP2 fixes should be in 14.3 CP3, but in reality, you should make ALL environments the same.
So if I were doing this upgrade, I would choose option 2
