Is it possible to do a IDCAMS Repro Mergecat the TMC and AUDIT files ALIAS while CA-1 is active

Issue/Introduction

Is it possible to use IDCAMS to Repro / Mergecat the ALIAS of the TMC and AUDIT files while CA-1 is active?

Does CA1 enqueue the TMC or AUDIT files while it is Active?

 

Scenario:

The TMC and Audit files are names TMS.TMC and TMS.AUDIT

The ALIAS is defined in a non-shared catalog

Currently want to use IDCAMS to REPRO/MERGECAT the ALIAS and move it to a SHARED catalog.

Would this be possible while CA1/TMS is active?

Resolution

With the CTS-DBS subtask we ENQ the TMC/AUDIT files.

It should be fine to do the IDCAMS to Repro / Mergecat the ALIAS of the TMC and AUDIT files while CA-1 is active.  CA1 is  only concerned that the TMS.TMC and TMS.AUDIT are cataloged to the same volume that were activated on not the aliases.
