High CPU usage when McAfee monitoring pdmweb.exe

Issue/Introduction

Customer is seeing high CPU usage after installing 17.3RU11

There are a lot of pdmweb.exe instances shown in McAfee logs even with the SDM service down

Environment

Release : 17.3RU11

McAfee Antivirus

Cause

High CPU usage expected to be caused by excessive scanning from the McAfee application. 

Resolution

Customer reported high CPU usage related to McAfee monitoring pdmweb.exe.

We saw McAfee was monitoring pdmweb.exe excessively. 

Customer restarted server and restarted application pool.

Pdmweb.exe no longer appeared in the McAfee logs and memory usage became stable.
