Issue/Introduction

After installing or upgrading Applications Manager, initial client login attempt returns the below error:

ErrorMsg: AwE-9999 Internal error
Details: null
javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target

Environment

Release : 9.3.x, 9.4.x, 9.5.x

Component : APPLICATIONS MANAGER

Cause

User_keystore and user_keystore_config issue

Resolution

The above error can be thrown for multiple reasons including:

  • Make sure the user_keystore and user_keystore_config files on client machine matches the user_keystore and user_keystore_config from the masters $AW_HOME/data or %AW_HOME%\data (Windows) directory.
  • If running version 9.3.0, user_keystore and user_keystore_config files should exist in the directory C:\Users\<username>\.AppWorx
  • If running version 9.3.1 and above, user_keystore and user_keystore_config files should exist in the directory C:\Users\<username>\AppWorx\<MASTERNAME>
