Vantage Storage Resource Manager

Issue/Introduction

It can happen that, using the APP administrator user to define a new Public Host with a specific IP Address, a pop up error indicating that  :

'Host with the same address already exists.'

is got, but the APP user cannot find it in the known list of all the Public or Private Hosts already defined.

How to find the user that defined a Private Host using that IP Address.

Environment

Release :

Component : Vantage Storage Resource Manager MTC-M

Resolution

Starting from MTC-M Version 14.0.07 it is possible to find who defined that Private Host doing the following steps:

1. Log in the MTC-M using the APP user and VantageDB application

2. Select the "Databases" item in the Left Menu Navigation panel:

3. Click on HOST item in the "Databases" Tree and all the host definitions will be listed in a table format that is displayed in the "HOST" tab. Here all the details about each host definition are available, including userid that created it.

In this way, doing an MTC-M login with that userid, it will be possible to Delete the Private Host, allowing the APP user to define the Public Host with the correct IP Address.

Additional Information

Even if from the above panel it seems to be possible to directly delete that record using the 'Delete Record' tab, this functionality should be fixed because it doesn't work correctly both in MTC-M 14.0.07 and 14.0.

The Labs will provide a fix in a new version 14.1.01 of MTC-M that will be released in March.
