Set up Load Balancer URL for Clarity

Issue/Introduction

After migration to new servers, need to know the steps to make the LB URL work vs using direct server URL

Environment

Release : Any Supported Clarity release

Resolution

• Ensure that the new servers are added in the Load Balancer
• Load Balancer has to be set up with Persistence and Sticky Sessions as per our Technical documentation
• Once done, set up the HTTP Entry URL in CSA or entryURL for app in properties.xml to the LB URL for each server 
• It is fine to use an https URL but the entry should match the LB URL you want to use to connect
• You do not have to enable HTTPS in Clarity properties.xml as LB can be offloading the SSL - below the configuration for this specific set up:
  • Install any appropriate certificates on LB level
  • Set SSL Handling to "SSL processed externally" in CSA (sslType="external"), then restart services
