Unable to export data at 15 second resolution - keeps changing to 15 minutes

Issue/Introduction

We are trying to export data from the investigator as can be seen from the below screenshot.

The problem is that they want to export the data for different periods (e.g. 2 months ago, for 2 weeks, etc.) and they would like to keep the resolution of this export the same, in their case 15seconds (minimum) some of the export that they perform keep this resolution (the live once) but when they change the periods the resolution changes by itself, e.g. in most cases it goes to 900 second (15 minutes).

We are unable to understand why it is doing this as 15 min is strange (meaning it is not even available as a selection (only 12min)).

Resolution

This is due to the data reperiodization that occurs based on the smartstor tier settings. Please see the doc here for an explanation.

 

In essence by default tier 1 stores data at 15 second resolution for 7 days. tier 2 at 60 second resolution for 23 days and tier3 at 15 minute resolution for 335 days (total 365days).

 

So if you try to view and export data that is no longer stored in teir1 15 second resolution will not be possible
