Attachment is removed if required field error thrown in Classic on New Project screen

Issue/Introduction

SUMMARY: In Classic Clarity, I tried saving the properties page where a file has been uploaded to an attachment type field. I forgot to enter data in a required field and a message appears as expected.  I filled in the field and saved the record.  However, I did not realize my attachment file disappeared when the page refreshed to show the error

 

STEPS TO REPRODUCE: 
1- Add a required Text or other attribute to the project attribute
2- Add an attachment attribute to the project object.
3- Modify the General Project view to include the attachment attribute
4- Publish
5- create a new project, add a file attachment in the new attachment field.
6- Leave custom or other required attribute missing a value
7- Save the project

Expected Results: User gets a missing required attribute error and the file attachment remains.

Actual Results:  User gets a missing required attribute error and the file attachment is removed.

Workaround: 
Add the attachment after save, but users can miss it.

Resolution

Broadcom does not currently have any plans to address this as all focus is on improving the Modern UI
