Issue/Introduction

Customers have reported, that they have noticed, that RedHat clients hosted in Hyper-V are not properly showing the Resource Type.

Windows clients hosted on the same Hyper-V host, are properly identified as Virtual Machines.

Environment

ITMS 8.6 RU1, 8.6 RU2

Cause

Known issue. We do not support Hyper-V at the moment (as 8.6 RU1 and RU2), which is why the machine was reported as a physical resource.

Resolution

ITMS 8.6 RU3 will address this issue. We added support for Hyper-V virtualization detection.

After upgrading to ITMS 8.6 RU3, it should display the proper Resource Type as a Virtual Machine.
