Issue/Introduction

When replicating between two sites, automatic replication is failing and manual replication fails when initiated from one site.  Manual replication succeeds if initiated from the second site.

ReplicationLocal-x.log has many file not found errors, similar to this:

2022-01-17 15:19:54.730 THREAD 5635 WARNING: java.io.FileNotFoundException: F:\Program Files (x86)\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\data\inbox\log\behavior\rl_57589253C0A8E18625B1EFB1B2F073D8.tmp (The system cannot find the path specified)

2022-01-17 15:19:54.730 THREAD 5635 WARNING: ReplicationTask>> replicate: Unable to reach remote Site [SEPM2]: F:\Program Files (x86)\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\data\inbox\log\behavior\rl_57589253C0A8E18625B1EFB1B2F073D8.tmp (The system cannot find the path specified)

Environment

SEP version: 14.2,14.3.x

Cause

Temporary folders used during replication are missing, and the SEPM is unable to recreate them.  Because of this, the SEPM is downloading the data.zip file from the remote site, but is unable to process it.

Resolution

1. Break the replication partner.

2. Repair the SEPM from the software setup.

or

1. Create the sub folders manually.
