Issue/Introduction

UNIX v2 account deletion doesn't delete mail file under /var/spool/mail directory.

The account is removed from /etc/passwd, /etc/group, and /etc/shadow files, but mail file remains in the /var/spool/mail directory

Can we delete the account's mail file under /var/spool/mail directory too when we delete UNIX v2 account?

Environment

Release : 14.3, 14.4

Component : Identity Manager

Resolution

Select "Delete Home Directory When Deleting Account" box in IM User Console in the UNIX v2 Endpoint configuration. With this option enabled, when the account is deleted IM will delete the user account's home directory and also its mail file under /var/spool/mail directory.

You can also run the following command using etautil command to enable "Delete Home Directory When Deleting Account" option.

etautil -d im -u etaadmin -p <password> -DYN update "eTNamespaceName=UNIX v2" eTDYNDirectory eTDYNDirectoryName=<Endpoint's name> to eTDYN-str-multi-ca-16=1
