What are the required values for importing a user in Excel?

Issue/Introduction

When importing users via Excel, it is not clear what values are needed to satisfy the import routine.  This article aims to explain the values that will allow a customer to import users via Excel.

The minimum required fields to generate a user are as follows:

• Email Address
• Language
• Locale
• session Timeout
• Session Timeout Warning
• User Name

Email Address

This should be provided as a standard email address consisting of local part, an @ symbol, followed by the domain.

 

User Name

This should be provided as a standard email address consisting of local part, an @ symbol, followed by the domain.

 

Language

Currently accepted languages are:

English: en-US

 

Locale

Currently accepted locales are:

English: en-US

 

session Timeout

This value is specified in seconds.  To align with the timeout values available in the user interface, use the following values:

• 10 Minutes: 600
• 15 Minutes: 900
• 30 Minutes: 1800
• 1 Hour: 3600
• 2 Hours: 7200
• 4 Hours: 14400
• 6 Hours: 21600
• 8 Hours: 28800
• 10 Hours: 36000
• 5 Days: 432000
• Two Weeks: 1209600

 

Session Timeout Warning

This is a boolean value and must be either TRUE to indicate the user should receive a timeout warning, or FALSE to suppress the warning
