Issue/Introduction

A vulnerability scanner has indicated that Messaging Gateway (SMG) may be vulnerable to CVE-2021-44142 or your security policies require confirmation that SMG is not affected by the Linux samba remote code execution vulnerability outlined in CVE-2021-44142.

Resolution

Messaging Gateway (SMG) is not affected by CVE-2021-44142.

SMG does not ship with the samba packages installed and there is no mechanism by which the affected samba / SMB services can be installed on Messaging Gateway.
