Issue/Introduction

Microsoft Patches are not being Targeted to Computers, and so there is no Bulletin shown on the Agent > Software Update tab.

Resolution

Always follow Microsoft guidelines for installing each patch.

Symantec uses Microsoft's guidelines for recommended prerequisites.  For example, a lot of updates have this information:

Before installing this update

Microsoft strongly recommends you install the latest servicing stack update (SSU) for your operating system before installing the latest cumulative update (LCU). SSUs improve the reliability of the update process to mitigate potential issues while installing the LCU and applying Microsoft security fixes. For general information about SSUs, see Servicing stack updates and Servicing Stack Updates (SSU): Frequently Asked Questions.

If a Service Stack update has not been installed recently, we may not include that system as Applicable for that patch.
