Issue/Introduction

The service dashboard and the service show as degraded when the service is created in a different landscape than the device that makes up the service. The device had an alarm which is no longer active on the device but the service still shows an outage.

Environment

DX NetOps Spectrum Release : 20.2 or later

Resolution

After several weeks, the Services maybe observed to be working correctly again after being affected by this problem for some time. 

In these cases, even though nothing outwardly was done to Spectrum itself to fix the issue, its possible that it was caused and resolved as follows:

1. Possible device configuration issue. Its possible that the devices on the secondary SS were not able to communicate by SNMP but that communication might then have been restored on the device side.
   
   
2. If the system is monitoring GC's, then some problematic devices may have been removed from the GC and hence the service is now working correctly. If Spectrum cannot connect to a device via SNMP, and the device is a member of a GC to which the service is applied, then the service will reflect this problem in its status.
