WSS Agent
This error is logged when WSS Agent detects the customer ID has been corrupted and is successfully restored.
If the customer ID in the file is corrupted or missing, and the ID is restored from backup, a diagnostic log message is logged which reads "Warning: Customer ID restored from backup".
We store the customer ID in two places - in a file on-disk (the "truth"), as well as in the registry (the "backup").
If the file is corrupted or removed (which can happen if someone would tinker with their installation, or if there is some kind of system scanning process that is modifying or removing those files, or if you are deploying the agent using a cloning utility and aren't cloning the program data directory), then it will show this message. A crash or killing the agent could also potentially corrupt the files as well.
If you have a Symdiag, it should contain the crash dump if the agent crashed. If there is no crash dump in the Symdiag, then the application was forcibly killed by some other process.
