Issue/Introduction

Using VM:Backup with an Optica zVT virtual tape device.

Can use VM:Tape to mount a tape, and do a HiDRO backup which works fine.

But when trying to run a VM:Backup job, it receives message VMBTUP0603E, and the job fails. 

Environment

Release : 3.6

Component : VM:Backup for z/VM

Resolution

The 3590 tape drives show as HPTB/C in VM:Tape.

But they had been defined in VM Tape as XPT.

VM:Tape is okay with that, but VM:Backup is not.

Rebuild the TMC with the tapes as HPT, VM:Backup will then work work fine.
