Cause
Some Symantec Content Analysis customers (using CAS-S200-A1 appliances) have experienced performance constraints due to limited memory when upgrading to CAS 3.1.2.2 or later. For example, the user interface may become slow in delivering report results.
Resolution
Broadcom is offering a free memory upgrade kit to allow optimal performance when running CAS 3.1.2.2 or later. This upgrade kit is prepared specifically for the CAS-S200-A1 appliance. This kit will be freely available to current CAS-S200-A1 customers with active support contracts.
The new memory is fully supported and has been thoroughly tested and approved for use with the CAS-S200-A1 model to improve performance. No software updates are required to utilize the upgraded memory.
The new memory upgrade kit can be obtained through the normal ordering process. When ordering, the requester will be asked to provide a Serial Number of the customer’s CAS-S200-A1 appliances that are being upgraded.
