AL2DBHOT fails with a RACF violation for update on the Database

Issue/Introduction

After a recent upgrade to R12.1, we are implementing a hot backup for the CA7 Datacom DB.  It is failing with a RACF violation seeking to update AWH770.    Is UPDATE required for the hot backup job?

 

Environment

Release : 12.1

Component : CA 7

Resolution

Update access is needed to run Datacom's DBUTLTY which includes backup jobs AL2DBHOT and AL2DBKUP.   Review hlq.CAL2OPTN(AL2RACFD) for the CLASS(DT@TIL) to include update access.
