Issue/Introduction

You have moved your Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM) to 2019 Server OS, you want to deploy SEP clients via remote push and you cannot use the Browse Network option as it throws the following error:

Environment

SEP 14.3 RU3 / Windows server 2019

Cause

Windows Server 2019 has SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support feature and Browser service disabled by default, and in order for the Browse Network feature to work this option need to be enabled.

Resolution

Our internal team doesn’t recommend this option but can allow it, in terms of installing the product: means you can enable the SMB service to push the installation on clients and once done disable again.
(can also use SMB v2 and v3 that are supported by Microsoft and can be used in these situation in case customer wants to use the push method to install SEP client)
