A child task that is open for time entry but below a summary task that is closed, IT IS available for selection in Modern UX Timesheets
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a project MyProject
2. Add any team member.
Ensure Track mode is set to PPM and is Open for Time Entry (OTE)
3. Create a task MySummaryTask.
4. Set the task OTE flag off.
5. Create a child task MyChildTask
6. Set the OTE flag on
7. Assign the team member to this latest task.
8. In Classic UI timesheets, find the resource we assigned to the project task
9. Try to add tasks. MyChildTask task is not available because the summary task OTE flag is off even if the task itself is open
10. Go to the Modern UX Timesheets and edit a timesheet for the concerned resource.
11. Click on Add tasks.
Expected Results: MyChildTask task is not available because the summary task OTE flag is off even if the task itself is open
Actual results: MyChildTask task is available ignoring that the summary task OTE flag is off
This only affects the MUX timesheets.
This has been analyzed through DE63921 and is working as designed
This is due to a design change in MUX:
Changes in Version 16.0:
With the introduction of the generic tasks grid for the Modern UX Timesheets 'Select Tasks' action, there is now a difference in the behavior from what was implemented previously in Modern and Classic of what tasks can be seen in the grid for the user to manually select tasks
If the user uses the 'Add Assigned Tasks' or "Copy Tasks from Previous Timesheet" in the Modern UX, it will honor the rules, but if the user goes to 'Select Tasks' manually, they will be able to see these tasks where the parent is NOT Open for Time Entry.
The project manager can use bulk edit to set the lower tasks OTE = No if they do not want these tasks to show on the 'Select Tasks' grid.
