Issue/Introduction

Why do package downloads to Sym Agent machines work correctly when using a wireless NIC but fails when using a hardwired connected NIC?

Environment

ITMS 8.6 RU1

 

Cause

Network configuration issues - the Sym Agent machines could talk to the Notification Server with both wired and wireless connections but the Package Server was only available when connected through the wireless NIC.

Resolution

Undisclosed network configuration changes in the environment with this issue were causing this behavior.
