Issue/Introduction

In Spectrum Device Certification when I query Cisco UCS devices SystemObjectID for example: 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.1512 and 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.1513 It shows model type as GnCiscoDev and when I try to change the model type to CiscoUCSChassis and save it, Spectrum does not accept and again after reopen Device Certification tab it shows model type as GenCiscoDev.

Environment

Release : 20.2

Component : Spectrum Certification

Cause

The reason why we are not able to assign CiscoUCSChassis to these OID is because it is not derived from SnmPif model type. CiscoUCSChassis type is Container type and not SNMP capable, so the system prevents the user from being able to select a Container type on a SNMP derived model type.

Resolution

This is working as designed for the time being.
