Unable to login to Critical System Protection (CSP) 8.0.2 Java Console

Issue/Introduction

You are trying to launch CSP 8.0.2 console and instead of the console login prompt you are receiving a pop-up with the error:

The JVM could not be started. The maximum heap size (-Xmx) might be too large or an antivirus tool could block the execution. 

 

Environment

Critical System Protection 8.0.2

 

Cause

The issue is linked to the failure of deletion of a folder and it has been observed when UAC is enabled. 

Resolution

Navigate to the directory below:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Symantec\Symantec Embedded Security\Console\jre\lib

Verify existence of ext directory and if it is present delete it and retry Java Console login.
