Issue/Introduction

I am trying to execute a privileged command from the control account. Even though I typed SET PRIV ON, I still get a security error.  Why do I get that?

Environment

Release: 6.0

Component: ROSCOE

CA ACF2, IBM RACF, CA Top Secret

Resolution

If you have external security set for privileged commands, the use of privileged commands is controlled by your security system and you will need to have your security administrator write rules to permit you to use them.

To determine if you have external security set for privileged commands, look for the following message in your Roscoe SYSOUT:

ROS451I: External Security set for ROSCMD.PRIV

To find the ROSRES Class Resource Name and attribute (level of permission needed) for the command you need to issue, please refer to the complete list of these in the CA Roscoe Security Administrator Guide in section 2.1.2.1 Advantage CA-Roscoe Commands. There is a complete list and it is in alphabetical order by the name of the command.  This Guide is attached to this article.
