Issue/Introduction

After updating a logonid with OMVSPGM(/bin/sh/), the update does not seem to take place. When a job runs with the id, the job gives the following error message:

FSUM1009 Unable to execute the shell.

What is missing to make the change to the user's logonid take effect?

Resolution

Normally, OMVS profile updates are dynamically activated and do not require a rebuild. However, in a shared database environment, if a change was implemented on one system, on the other system(s) the following ACF2 console command should be issued:

F ACF2,REBUILD(USR),CLASS(P),DIVISION(OMVS)

Additional Information

More information on User Profile Records and considerations on when a rebuild is required can be found in the ACF2 documentation under USER Profile Records.
