Search Textbox Option Not Filtering data

Issue/Introduction

The Timesheet 'Select Task' Option does not work as expected when using the Project name in the direct search Option.

Steps to Reproduce 

• Log in to MUX
• Go to Timesheet Workspace
• On My Timesheet, click Add Tasks>>Select Tasks
• Three tasks are listed
  • Project Name - Broadcom Test; Task Name - Task1
  • Project Name - Broadcom Test; Task Name - Task2
  • Project Name - Clarity Test; Task1
• Click on the direct search option and search for Broadcom Test

Expected Results- Two tasks with the Project Name Broadcom Test are listed

Actual Results - No results are returned

 

Environment

Release : 16.0.0+

 

Resolution

This is by design.  The search box will search by object name and/or object id and not all columns.  So in this case, it only searches for the Task Name.

This is to avoid a performance issue by searching using wild cards across many columns.
