How to identify the WSS Agent tenant ID

Issue/Introduction

As an administrator,  I would like to identify the WSS Agent tenant ID (also known as customer ID), pre-install and post-install.

Environment

  • Cloud SWG (WSS - Web Security Service)
  • WSS Agent
  • Windows OS

Resolution

Identify WSS Agent tenant ID pre-install

  1. Login to the WSS Portal
  2. Download the WSS Agent (Windows version) under Connectivity >Set Up and Configuration > WSS Agent
  3. Download and install the ORCA MSI Editor part of Microsoft Developer Tools.
  4. Go to the folder where the "WSS Agent MSI" is located.
  5. Right-click on the WSS Agent MSI
  6. Click on Edit with ORCA
  7. Go to Property and review CUST_ID 

    NOTE: Do not make any modifications to the MSI.

Identify WSS Agent tenant ID post-install

  1. Open the WSS Agent UI
  2. Go to the Support tab and review the diagnostics logs. You will see the Customer ID.

  OR

  1. Open the command prompt as administrator
  2. Run command to see customer ID:
    C:\Program Files\Symantec\WSS Agent>wssad.exe -s

    customer id: XXXXX

    version: 3

    fail open: true

    tamper protection: disabled
