STORAGE display has blank areas in the screen

Issue/Introduction

We were told about an issue on our sandpit Sysview Systems where the STORAGE screen displays blank information. STORAGE display.

Could you please explain the problem? 

Environment

Release : 16.0

Component : SYSVIEW

z/OS 2.4

Cause

The text descriptions that show in the Resource field on STORAGE come from member CNM4BPRM(VARMVS).  
The following variables that show on STORAGE with no description were all added in 16.0 by PTF LU00548:

STGRUSED
STGRUSE%
STGRFREE
STGRFRE%
STGRCSA 
STGRLPA 
STGRLSQA
STGRSQA 

 

This PTF did update the VARMVS parmlib member to add these metrics/descriptions:

MVS      STGRUSED 'Real storage used                       '
MVS      STGRUSE% 'Real storage used pct                   '
MVS      STGRFREE 'Real storage free                       '
MVS      STGRFRE% 'Real storage free pct                   '
MVS      STGRLSQA 'Real storage used by LSQA               '
MVS      STGRCSA  'Real storage used by CSA                '
MVS      STGRLPA  'Real storage used by PLPA/MLPA          '
MVS      STGRSQA  'Real storage used by SQA                '

Resolution

I've deleted the VARMVS member from our SITE Parmlib library member VARMVS and all is good now. Short of removing the VARMVS from the SITE Parmlib member. Recopy the VARMVS Parmlib member from the SYSTEM library into SITE Parmlib member VARSMVS.

Additional Information

It seems your runtime environment is not using this updated member.

I wouldn't expect your site CNM4BPRM to include the VARMVS member but you can check. 

Then compare your system member to that in your SMP/E target parmlib.
