Issue/Introduction

Getting error when trying to upload a Gen model to the Host Encyclopedia.

The error message was:

 TIEC086E  NO LONGER SUPPORT 8.0.A3 MODELS OR EARLIER.CANNOT UPLOAD.

Resolution

Possible root causes for the above error

• The schema level that is being reported in the error message, 8.0.A3, is from the Cool:Gen 5.x release, which was retired 20+ years ago. Copying or uploading using a very old tran file or using an incorrect tran file to update the host encyclopedia, will lead to the above error .
• Another possible root cause is if manually transferring the update.trn file to the HE e.g. using FTP, then accidentally doing the transfer in ASCII mode instead of BINARY
• Problem with the tsoid.IEF.TRAN dataset itself (e.g. a wrong block size).
