Issue/Introduction

While attempting to run the External Administrator Authentication Wizard, during the Select SuperUser step, the following error is encountered:

Error:
An error occurred while searching the directory, please check that all information has been correctly supplied and try again. If the problem persists, check the error logs for additional details.


Although no error is occurring on the Connection Details step (step 3), the CA certs were are importing never appear when clicking the Show Certs button.  The truststore.jks file is not updated.  The server.log merely shows that connection to AD failed.

Release : 12.8.05

Component : SITEMINDER WAM UI

Cause

It is unknown why the AdminUI was failing to connect or update the truststore.jks file.  The wizard usually will not move past step 3 if a connection to the directory cannot be made.

Resolution

We were able to manually add the CA certs to the truststore using the keytool command (keytool -import), after which we were able to successfully complete the External Admin Auth Wizard.
