Issue/Introduction

What is the best way to implement new chains in our CCF environment?

Created a new QA environment and changed languages along with setting up group processing so programmers in specific areas can work together on work-orders as a team rather than an individual.

Resolution

1. From the CCF main menu select option 12.11 Admin Services - Library chain definition

2. Select option 1 - Create library chain and press enter.

3. The chain create panel allows the specification of the chain group, chain description, and chain model to be used if desired. It will generate the new chain number automatically for the chain being created.

4. The chain number of an existing chain may be specified as the model chain, creating a copy that will be used for building the new chain.

5. Enter the chain group name and description.

6. Enter the library dataset name for PROD and TEST or QA.

    Example:

    ACTION TYPE  LIBRARY

                PROD LIBSYS.LIBR.V44.PRODMAST

                TEST LIBSYS.LIBR.V44.TESTMAST

7. Press END to continue.

8. Create the chain attribute for each library

    Example:

  LIBRARY

SOURCE  STATUS   OP SYS    PROMOTE  LOCK  LOGIN

  LIBSYS.LIBR.V44.PRODMAST

                                                                          C             1              C              *            *          *

  LIBSYS.LIBR.V44.TESTMAST

10. Press END to save.

11. From the CCF main menu select option 12.2 - Manager definition table
